The character in 1984 are: Winston Smith, Syme, Emmanuel Goldstein, Big Brother, and Julia. Winston Smith works for the government in the Records Department of the Ministry of Truth he does not like the government so he is very rebellious. His name may have to do with Winston Churchill who was a leader of the United Kingdom during world war two and he to was against totalitarianism. Big Brother is the leader and his face is used as propaganda he is supposed to represent your big brother watching you. Julia is Winston Smith's girlfriend and we don't know too much about her she could be a spy for the government but we do know she is a part of the anti-sex group. Her name could have foreshadowed her relationship with Winston because of the famous novel Romeo and Juliet with there similar names.
JuliaIs Winston lover and she doest like the totalitarian government and she live in airstrip one her name Julia stands for youth and she act like a teen age with her relationship with Winston Smith.
